Daniel Omondi

Success Story - Daniel Omondi

My name is Daniel Omondi from Siaya county aged 19, I started my highschool journey back in 2019 in St Mary's school Yala.My dad used to raise some fund for my fees through his bodaboda business ,but unfortunately in 2020 he got an accident and his left leg was damaged rendering him jobless, thus after COVID break,my mum started to fund my fees from her small business of selling kales.

This was not enough as she would only raise a very small amount of money.I was sent home several times by the school administration because of fees, but I would go back to school many times to plead with the school administration to allow me back to school.I remained focus in school knowing well my background, I went with no pocket money severally, but I just remained focus in school. When the time for doing National examinations reached, I sat and wrote the exams with much focus and courage.

I left high school with a fee balance of Ksh 91090 /=, which barred the school administration to hand over my results slip and leaving certificate to me,but since these documents were required in the joining of the university, I sat down with my mum and planned for Harambe in our church,of which we managed to raise KSH 47000/= ,then mum saved Ksh 13000/=, which totalled to Ksh 60000/ which we took to St Mary's school Yala, and then we were given the results slip and leaving certificate

Sochi Naftali Ogesa

Success Story - Sochi Naftali Ogesa

I am Sochi Naftali Ogesa, a 15-year-old student hailing from St. Henrys Rugunga Primary School. I recently completed my Kenya Certificate of Primary Education (K.C.P.E) in 2023, achieving a commendable fifth position in a class comprising eighty-nine pupils. Securing 350 out of 500 marks, I am proud of my academic accomplishments.

I belong to the Mbaga Sochi and Evelyne Omondi family, surrounded by ten siblings. While my parents, who are resilient peasant farmers, are alive, they struggle to cover my school fees amid the financial challenges posed by my numerous siblings currently in secondary schools. Residing in the River Nzoia flood plains exposes us to frequent floods, impacting both our residence and food supply.

My humble abode is situated in Busia County, specifically in Budalangi Sub-county, Khaluja location, Lugale sub-location, and Lugale village. Despite the adversities, I am determined to overcome these challenges and excel academically, vowing to be a diligent and hardworking student should I be granted the opportunity of this scholarship.
